Steampunk is a science-fiction genre, blends the steam engine era as its central theme with various fiction and fantasy elements. The mainly setting use in Britain during the Victorian period when steam engines were in full service. This stream of Steampunk appeared between 1980 – 1990. In Wikipedia, it states that Steampunk involves various features such as “anachronistic technology.” The use of antique and ancient technology in the modern era; futuristic innovations and inventions that existed in the Victorian era’s pundits; and various era technologies presented in a different historical view.

Steampunk’s term was invented by the author K.W. Jeter who tried to find an available name for the novel ‘Anubis Gate’ (by Tim Powers, 1983), ‘Homonculus’ (James Blaylock, 1986), ‘Infernal Device’ (K.W.Jeter, 1987). All of these works have two characteristics. The first set was in the 19th century. Both all follow the depiction of fiction works that emerged during that era, such as The ‘Time Machine’ (H.G. Wells, 1895). Steampunk adopted many styles from 19th-century writers, such as Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Mark Twain.

In general, there are various steampunk sub-genres. Steampunk’s historical-fiction history takes place in a known historical period (both actual and alternate), during the industrial revolution, which began before the electric era was widely known. Fantasy-world steampunk is a steampunk set outside the historical period, more precisely in a fantasy world. Steampunk is currently popular in various cultures and segments. That has led to multiple movements to shape a steampunk culture and lifestyle. Neo-Victorianism is a term for blending aesthetic values with everyday things.

Steampunk’s specific art form led to the emergence of a particular style of Steampunk in world culture. Its manifestations include all kinds of modding and redesign of everyday household items. According to the steampunk style, specific accessories and jewelry, replete with levers, valves, and gears and trimmed with appropriate materials (such as shiny copper, polished wood, and leather). Some clothing items are mainly stylized on the era’s theme (a characteristic accessory is safety glasses – “goggles” of various types and shapes).

The elements of steampunk style are “old” cars, locomotives, telephones, etc., anachronically inscribed in more (or less) “old” surroundings, flying dirigible ships. Jewelry in Steampunk’s style is jewelry with various metal parts, parts of mechanisms, with bronze and copper.
