OakOak and Street Art Inspired by Comic Cartoons

French street artist based in Saint Etienne, OakOak, is charismatic artist who likes to play with urban elements. He is widely known for his smart and comic creations based on existing elements that cities provide.

He has very detailed eyes and minds to make his artworks that might not think about by others. He has presented some of the most amazing street art even though usually tiny and hidden.

“One day i was walking in the street and i found a fire hydrant. And i thought that just putting two eyes in paper, i was really more cool and more human. After that i continued to try to find new urban elements,” he told the beginning of his story to isupportstreetart.com.

A true independent spirit that has managed to be famous through his simplicity. His evident kind nature and wild imagination are his distinctive assets, and he is inspired by comic cartoons.

“Some cartoons as The simpson’s or futurama, or also Calvin and Hobbes are a very important inspiration for my humour.”

It seems that makes his artworks looks funny, makes people smile and like his artworks. However, he can accept if his artworks are destroyed by people. “That ‘s the rules when you paint in the street. If I do not accept it, I would paint only on canvas.”

In the future he hope to have some collaborations with street artists that he appreciate, maybe with Varini, Fra Biancoshock, Pao, or Pejac, some street artist who play with the environment in the street, that he likes.
